The internationalisation team plays a key role in making these connections work, bringing knowledge from outside in, and showcasing Brabant’s strengths to the world.
How we create impact
- Connecting: we link Brabant’s organisations directly to the right international organisations, ensuring faster access to knowledge, markets, and opportunities.
- Exchanging: we share insights and trends with Brabant’s stakeholders and turn them into concrete opportunities for market-driven innovations.
- Positioning: we present Brabant abroad as a leading innovative region – a place where companies, knowledge institutions and governments work together in strong partnerships.
- Facilitating: we support Brabant’s innovative ecosystems by building and maintaining strategic international contacts, ensuring that cooperation leads to products and services that improve quality of life.
In practice, this includes organizing incoming and outgoing visits, the Brabant Innovation Days, and thematic networking events. We also take part in international conferences, trade shows, and European networks and coalitions.
We work closely with knowledge institutions, companies, the national government, Brabant municipalities, and regional development agencies. One of our key partners is the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), which among other things is responsible for promoting trade and investment – an important complement to our internationalisation efforts.

In the coming years, the province will concentrate on key regions and themes in Europe and Asia, building partnerships that create the greatest impact for Brabant. We focus on collaboration with regions that are international leaders in innovation and that share Brabant’s ambitions. Through these partnerships, we accelerate knowledge exchange, strengthen our innovation capacity, and create opportunities for companies, knowledge institutions and governments.
