The partners in this project are the municipality of Helmond, public housing organisations, Stichting Welzijn Ouderen Helmond and healthcare institutions.

Innovations in housing, wellness and care
As two residents will never ask exactly the same question about care, the municipality of Helmond would like to get to work to provide the best answer possible to individual questions. Excellent care for everyone who requires it and this as close to home as possible. The use of ICT offers advantages. The municipality of Helmond would like to establish a standard infrastructure to which several types of equipment can be connected. The project partners are considering an open system fed from the meter cupboard that users are able to expand as required. The system will allow residents to access different services related to housing, welfare and care from their home.

It is also possible to plan and coordinate care using ICT. For example, care for people suffering from dementia. How is ICT able to assist the friends and family of dementia sufferers and how can professional care service providers connect to this system? The ultimate aim is to regulate supply and demand of care for people suffering from dementia and to expand the group of care providers available to carers. The municipality of Helmond is working together with local partners who are already involved in the care of the elderly and those suffering from dementia.

Key features
• Essence of the project: The use of ICT offers two distinct advantages. On the one hand, an open system will allow residents to access different services concerning housing, welfare and care from their home. On the other, ICT will facilitate care and make it more efficient.
• The project researches how Alzheimer patients and people suffering from dementia can be helped by family members and friends and how their care can be coordinated with the help of ICT.
