Furthermore, the Provincial Government wishes to join the administrative consultations which the Provincial Governments of Gelderland, Overijssel and Limburg already hold with North Rhine-Westphalia.
Interreg programs
In the framework of cross-border cooperation, Noord-Brabant and North Rhine-Westphalia can utilise funds made available by the European Union in the Interreg IVA programme for the Euregio’s Rhine – Waal and Meuse – Rhine. Both Interreg programmes offer excellent opportunities for cooperation with North Rhine-Westphalia in concrete projects, among other things, in the field of knowledge, innovation and the environment.
Border provinces
Structural consultations between the Dutch border provinces of Limburg, Gelderland and Overijssel, and North Rhine-Westphalia in the fields of the Environment, Economic affairs and Mobility & Infrastructure have existed for some time now. In mid-2007, Noord-Brabant was approached to participate in the administrative consultations concerning the Environment (Provincial Executive member Onno Hoes) and Economic affairs (Provincial Executive Member Lily Jacobs).
