Noord-Brabant is part of the Interreg IV A programme for the Flanders- Netherlands area. This is a European subsidy programme especially for cross-border cooperation in this region. With this programme the European Union stimulates joint projects that contribute to the fields of physical planning, the economy, culture, environmental protection and disaster services.
Flemish-Dutch Border Consultations
The Dutch border provinces, a number of cross-border cooperations, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom relations and the Flemish Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly inventory the bottlenecks that occur in the border area such as, for example, disaster relief, flooding and cross-border labour. They subsequently bring thee points to the attention of those who can contribute to solutions.
Collaboration agreement Antwerp/Noord-Brabant
In 2007, the Provincial Executive of Noord-Brabant and the Deputised Board of Antwerp concluded a renewed cooperation agreement. The cooperation's objective is to continue to exchange developments which are of mutual interest and to cooperate with regard to themes including innovation, the economy and culture there where both provinces are authorised to do so. European subsidies will be used whenever possible.
Rijn - Schelde - Delta
The Rijn-Schelde Delta Samenwerkingsorganisatie (Rhine -Schelde - Delta Cooperation Organisation) focuses on opportunities and interests in the fields of the economy, mobility, ecology, culture, tourism and recreation. Its ambition is to work on the harmonisation, selection and vision creation for the delta as a whole. The execution of activities is project based and result oriented, and culminates in concrete plans and activities.
One of the Rijn-Schelde Delta cooperation's important objectives is to mutually inform each other, at an early stage and continually, concerning developments and intentions. This communication is a goal in itself. It should provide information about all of the Delta area.
Interregio
The Interregio Brabant-Limburg is a foundation which aims to reinforce cross-border economic cooperation in Central and Eastern Brabant , Belgian Limburg and Dutch Limburg. The participants are the Provincial Governments, larger municipalities, chambers of commerce and the business community. The principal point of attention is the stimulation and initiation of projects in the field of the cross-border knowledge-based economy, infrastructure and labour market policy. Regular meetings concerning a single theme are an important link and, naturally, the cross-border aspect is of paramount importance.
