Cross-border cooperation

Brabant looks beyond its borders and cooperates with its neighbouring regions in many fields of policy.

Many public matters do not stop at the provincial border. The Provincial Government therefore cooperates with its neighbouring regions in many fields of policy. It is important to mutually attune policy and projects for the border areas. Think for example of protecting nature reserves, processing waste, projects in the field of water management, road construction and the demand for educated labour.

Furthermore, it is useful to exchange knowledge and experience so that you can learn from one another. For example, the Provincial Government cooperates with the Gewest Vlaanderen [Flemish Region] and also has ties with our nearest German neighbours, the Federal State Nordrhein-Westfalen [North Rhine-Westphalia].

Noord-Brabant and Flanders

The Provincial Government consults with Flanders and cooperates in order to solve bottlenecks in the border area.

Noord-Brabant and North Rhine-Westphalia

The Province almost borders on the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
